Landing Page and SEO
Sometimes I feel like this website business creation class has been the blind leading the blind. Not that my professor is blind, or hasn't shared his knowledge- because He is probably the best teacher I have ever had in College. He knows his stuff and he shares it in a fun, engaging way. It's the ready-fire-aim approach that has had me "walking by faith" so to speak because I just am so ignorant of so many things when it comes to the "interwebs"(my dads word for the internet/websites).
I didn't understand in the beginning how keywords would work, I just picked a handful of words that seemed to be right? Then building the website with one eye closed and one eye squinted as I trusted the words of others and started putting my ideas into this little site called: Theloveofsewing.com (see what I did there?) Now that I started a Google campaign and can see the impact my keywords are having on my site, I feel like I am finally getting it. My squinty eye is open, and I am intently trying to figure out how the puzzle comes together. I can see now how my ad, landing page and keywords work together to provide a relevant experience to someone searching the web. I can see how including those keywords in my title, in the body of content in a natural way, affirms to the great algorithm in the web universe what my page is about and strengthens my site.
I still feel like there is so much I don't understand. As I have gone through these weeks of discovery I have revised, revisited, reworked my ideas over and over and I believe this refinement will make my site better regardless of what I do with it once this class is over. The things I have learned in this class are finally starting to come together for me. It's about dang time.
