Where to start? THIS is the question.

I have been taking Business and Entrepreneurship classes at BYUIdaho, online for a year and a half now.  I currently have a class called Small Business Creation and in the first week I was introduced to the $100 Challenge.  This challenge involves me starting a new business during this class, coming up with an idea, working at least 20 hours, trying to earn $100 to give back to a site called KIVA (which provides small loans to individuals all over the world to help them achieve their dreams-or just better their lives).  First, I am so excited and scared to figure out what I am going to do and really do it.  HOLY COW!  For me, the idea of creating my own business sometimes feels like a dream that I have had for so long, that it was never real, just thoughts or desires, but not concrete and tangible.  This class is going to challenge me to do something real.  Yes!  The first brainstorming list of possible businesses I could do, was really hard to get started (I have never brainstormed about my business before).  I could think of about 5 things I had already contemplated, then I hit the wall.  How could there be more than that?  It was really difficult for me to push through to 20 small ideas and 20 BIG ideas.  It was like cleaning the corners of my brain that I don't use very often. I liked it. And as I now look at the list, I can see that the brainstorming process is extremely useful and will help me refine and deliberate. It was a good place to start.  Another really helpful thing this week in class was looking at Entrepreneurship blogs.  I had no idea so much variety and useful information was out there (I mean of course it was, I had just never looked for it before- so again- WOW!) I can see that just like the Entrepreneur Interviews I have done (which were extremely helpful, by the way) the blogs will also be a great source of practical advice.  I don't know what I am going to do yet, but I am energized to figure it out!
